The central government gives about Rs 2300 crore in the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan. In this, Rs 600 is given under the honorarium of para teachers. It can be cut by 10-20 percent.

The Center had already instructed the state government to end the concept of para teachers. After this, the state government changed the name of para teachers to assistant teachers. In such a situation, there is every possibility of a cut in the honorarium item given to para teachers for the financial year 2025-26. The Union Education Ministry has called a meeting of the Pre Project Approval Board on February 19. In this, the proposal given by the Jharkhand government will be discussed and it will be told how much amount the Center will give in which item.
At the same time, the amount to be received by Jharkhand will be finally decided in the meeting to be held in the first week of March.
The burden will fall on the state government If the Center cuts its item, then the burden on the state government will increase.
Let us tell you that the state government is giving the benefit of EPF to 58 thousand para teachers from November 2024. In this, the state government is giving Rs 1950. At the same time, according to the agreement of August 2024, the honorarium of these para teachers is also to be increased by 1000. In such a situation, that amount will also have to be paid by the state government.
