Live Updates in hindi: two lakh teachers of bihar will get the benefit from salary protection starting this month
Latest Updated On 15/10/2025: The provision of pay protection has been implemented for teachers promoted from employed to special teachers in the state. Based on this pay protection, more than two lakh special teachers will receive their October salaries.

For this purpose, the work of determining pay under pay protection will be completed at the district level within three days. The responsibility for this has been assigned to the District Education Officer of each district. This benefit will be available to all categories of special teachers from grades 1 to 12. The Education Department issued the related guidelines (SOP) on Tuesday. This guideline was released with the signature of Director of Primary Education, Sahila.
Along with the guidelines, a pay matrix has also been released for determining the pay of special teachers. The pay of special teachers will be determined under this. The fitment matrix table has currently been released. The guidelines state that, according to the fitment matrix table for special teachers, the basic pay for special teachers in grades 1 to 5, 6 to 8, 9 and 10, and 11 and 12 starts at ₹25,000, ₹28,000, ₹31,000, and ₹32,000, respectively. Those employed teachers whose salaries exceed this basic pay will be determined based on the class-wise basic pay determined according to the fitment matrix table.
A list of special teachers for grades 1 to 5, 6 to 8, 9, 10, and 11 and 12 who are eligible for pay protection will be prepared at the district level. Subsequently, the special teacher's basic pay will be determined according to the class-wise pay matrix, granting the benefit of pay protection based on the last basic pay received as a employed teacher on January 1, 2025, or the date of joining the school, against the name of the teacher on the list.
Payments will be made from the district's available allocation
The basic salary (including salary protection) of special teachers eligible for salary protection will be determined by the District Education Officer within the next three days. A separate order will be issued. The district's allocation will be used to pay special teachers with salary protection within the district's allocated funds. Districts without such allocation will request this payment. The provision for salary protection is contained in the Bihar School Special Teachers Rules, 2023. Under this provision, the Education Department has issued guidelines for salary protection.
