Latest Updated On 11/03/2025: Admission in engineering colleges of Bihar will be done on the basis of JEE Main. For those students who will not get good trades including computer science in NIT on the basis of JEE Main score, there is an opportunity to get admission in better trades in engineering colleges of Bihar. The condition of engineering colleges of Bihar has improved as compared to earlier. Better placement is also happening. In such a situation, there is a better chance of admission for the students.
Admission in engineering colleges of Bihar will be done in two ways. The first phase of admission process will be based on JEE Main and in the second phase on the basis of Bihar Joint Entrance Competitive Examination marks. BCECEB has said that the students appearing in JEE Main apply for admission in the engineering colleges of the state. At the same time, students with PCM group can also get admission in the engineering colleges of the state in the joint entrance examination conducted by Bihar Joint Entrance Competitive Examination Board.

But, students will either have to appear in JEE Main or students with PCM group can appear in the entrance examination conducted by BCECEB. In the session 2025-26, admission is to be done on 13,675 seats in 38 engineering colleges. Preparations for this have also been started. The date of the entrance examination will be released soon.
Admission will be done on the basis of combined merit list
Candidates of PCM (Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry) group will be enrolled on the basis of combined merit list of BCECE 2025. Online counseling will be done as per merit cum option from PCM group. According to NTA, this time more than 75 thousand students have applied for JEE Main from Bihar.
