The Department of Civil Engineering has launched new MTech programs with industry-focused specializations. These include Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Water Resources Engineering & Transportation Engineering. By announcing these advanced courses, a bridge has been established between academic excellence and industry requirements. Civil engineering students can choose one of the above four specializations according to their interest and career goals in MTech. Admission to these programs will be through GATE exam. BTech-MBA course in the collaboration with IIM Mumbai
IIT Dhanbad & IIM Bombay (Mumbai) have jointly initiated the 1st integrated 5-years BTech MBA dual degree course. This course will combine the mining engineering and the logistics & supply chain management. The aim of the course is to bridge the gap between technical engineering education and advanced management training. After the BTech mining engineering at IIT, management studies will be complete at IIM Mumbai campus. After that, it will be shifted to modern Angul campus of IIM Mumbai.
Integrated BS-MS in the Physical Sciences
A 5-year integrated BS-MS course in Physical Sciences is starting at IIT Dhanbad. Admission will be through JEE Advanced. The aim of this course is to equip students with in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical experience of physical sciences.
You can exit after taking the 4-years BS degree
IIT has decided to began 2 BS-MS courses from the new session. These include BS-MS program from Chemical Science and BS-MS course from Physical Science. The important thing is that after studying for four years in Chemical Science BS-MS, you can exit the course by taking a BS degree. Admission will be done through JEE Advanced. It is a combination of core & optional subjects. Especially subjects like quantum mechanics, laser physics, solid state physics, nuclear science and technology are included.
