Latest Updated On 11/05/2025: In the Jharkhand, 20 lakh rupees was demanded from the each applicants of JSSC CGL Exam 2023 in the name of giving question papers. The CID has recovered evidence related to fraud and illegal recovery in the name of leaking the question paper. Information about this has been given to the IRB battalion. At the same time, the investigation related to departmental action has also revealed.


It has come to light in the investigation that IRB jawan Kundan Kumar alias Mantu used fellow IRB jawans as agents to collect money in lieu of question papers. Rs 20 lakh each was to be collected from the candidates through these alleged agents. Mastermind Sandeep Tripathi contacted Kundan through Assam Rifles jawan Ramnivas Rai and his brother Nivas Rai. Kundan's wife Kanchan's bank accounts were used for money transactions. Rs 2.90 lakh was sent from these accounts to Ramnivas' nephew Kaviraj alias Motu. Niwas CGL and Niwas JS were mentioned as codes in the reference. 90 thousand were taken from successful candidate Naveen Kumar on 27 September and 60 thousand on 6 October 2024.

Demanded money, also threatened: CID found in its investigation that IRB jawan Kundan Kumar alias Mantu and mastermind Sandeep Tripathi, arrested in the case, had called candidate Arvind Kumar from their respective mobile numbers and threatened him. They were demanding money from Arvind in exchange for the answers to the question paper. Arvind has also provided the recording of the video call of the threatening call to the CID. Arvind was also taken to Birganj in Nepal by the gang members on the pretext of providing the question paper. A list of 28 applicants was recovered from the mobile phones of Kundan Kumar & Kaushalesh Kumar, arrested in the case. The candidates were taken to Birganj via Patna, Muzaffarpur, Motihari, Raxaul. Out of 28 candidates in the list, 10 had passed. In Birgunj, the jawans were made to memorise 100 to 120 general knowledge questions and their answers in six to seven pages.
