Supreme Court order: Application of CTET candidates rejected, fined Rs 5 lakh


Latest Updated On 29/05/2025: The Supreme Court has directed to release the result of the examination for the appointment of 26001 Assistant Acharya in Jharkhand within a month. The court gave this direction while hearing the contempt petition of Parimal Kumar and others on Wednesday.

The court has directed the Chief Secretary of Jharkhand and the Secretary of Jharkhand State Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) to comply with the court's order and inform. The Supreme Court has said that if the compliance report is not submitted, a contempt case will be filed against the concerned officials.


Hearing another petition related to the appointment of Assistant Acharya, the Supreme Court did not allow the CTET pass candidates to appear in the Assistant Acharya appointment examination and dismissed the petition. The court dismissed this petition of the applicant Arvind Kumar Thakur and others and also imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh on the applicants. The court said that the court's time was wasted by filing such a petition.

In fact, SLP was filed on behalf of Arvind Kumar Thakur and others, requesting to re-include CTET candidates in the Assistant Acharya examination appointment. In this case, the state government first filed an affidavit and told the Supreme Court that the government is considering withdrawing the advertisement for the appointment of Assistant Professor. However, later, seeing the strict stand of the Supreme Court, the state government again filed a revised affidavit and said that the result of the appointment of Assistant Professor will be published soon. But, the result was not released. After this, the applicants filed a contempt petition.


The High Court had canceled the exemption given to Para teachers


The High Court had abolished the exemption given to Para teachers in the appointment of Assistant Acharya. On the lines of non-para candidates, it was made mandatory for Para teachers to score more than the passing marks along with the qualifying marks in the examination. Now the minimum qualifying marks of all Para and non-Para candidates will be considered as the basis in the result.


The examination was conducted from 12 June for 26001 posts


The examination for the appointment of 26,001 Assistant Acharyas in Jharkhand started from 12 June 2024. Earlier, the examinations for the post of Inter Trained Assistant Acharya had started. Whereas the examination for Graduate Trained Assistant Acharya started from 23 June. Earlier, the examination of only Hindi paper was held in the last week of April 2024 and the first week of May.


Cancelled examinations were conducted


The canceled examinations of various subjects of Assistant Acharya were conducted on 28 May. The examinations of Panchpargania, Kurmali and Urdu subjects were canceled. The re-examination of the cancelled paper was conducted at various examination centres in Ranchi.


Applications of CTET, TET pass candidates from other states were cancelled


On the orders of the Supreme Court, 53,604 applications of CTET and TET pass candidates from other states and those who had applied again were cancelled. Also, the applications of 1196 candidates who were cancelled earlier were reinstated. Applications after 22 October 2023 were cancelled. Let us tell you that the High Court had given a chance to CTET and TET pass students from other states.
