Latest Updated On 29/06/2025: 42609 constables will be recruited soon in Bihar. The process has started. This announcement was made by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He said that the written examination for the recruitment to 19838 of these posts is being conduct in July next month. After this, recruitment work will be done at a fast pace on the remaining 22771 posts. He was addressing the function after providing appointment letters to the newly selected 21391 policemen in Bapu Auditorium located at Samrat Ashok Convention Center on Saturday.
CM Nitish Kumar said that after the today's recruitment, the no. of women in Bihar Police has increased upto about 36000. This is more than any of the state in the country. This is a matter of the pride for all of us. Nitish said that since the new govt was formed on 24th November 2005, there is rule of law in Bihar. Development work is to be going on. Everyone knows that what was the condition in the previous govt. People didn't come out of the home after the evening. The law & order condition was bad.

CM handed over appointment letters to these constables
The Chief Minister symbolically handed over appointment letters to Saurabh Kumar, Raj Anand, Heera Lal Yadav, Akash Pandey, Ankit Kumar, Sonu Kumar, Prabhakar Kumar, Chanchal Kumari, Ritu Kumari, Mohd. Salim Ansari, Banke Bihari and Sita Kumari. Those who received the appointment letters thanked the Chief Minister by clapping and expressed happiness.
No. of police in bihar will be 2.29 lakh
CM said that before our govt, the total no. of force in Bihar Police was 51000. Against this, only 42 thousand 481 police personnel were working. He said that since the year 2006, the no. of police force has been continuously increased. In the year 2013, 35% reservation for the women was implemented in the police. In year 2022, the no. of police force increased upto 1.10 lakh.
In the year 2023, in program of Police Week, we decided to increase the no. of police force in the state upto 2.29 lakh. After this, the work of recruitment is being complete rapidly to fill the remaining posts. Out of these, 55000 posts are being filled by promotion by the Home Department. Apart from this, the work of direct recruitment on 64000 posts is going on rapidly.
