The date of counselling for admission in medical colleges will be announced soon
Latest Updated On 16/06/2025: After the release of result of NEET UG 2025 exam, the counselling process for the admission in the medical colleges will start soon. The counseling process will be started by MCC (Medical Counseling Committee) for the admission in MBBS, BDS. During this, successful candidates will have to fill the registration & college choice. The selection of medical college has to be complete thoughtfully according to the rank, so that they can get a better college according to that rank. There will be separate counselling under the All India & State quota.
- MBBS seats are likely to increase in Bihar in new session
Under the All India quota, there will be admission in 15% of medical and dental colleges across the country. Simultaneously, the state will release its counseling schedule for the admission to 85% of the seats. The counseling schedule will be released within a week. Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) will start the registration process for the admission to 85 percent of medical & dental seats in Bihar. This time studies are also likely to start in 2 new medical colleges in Bihar. Admission is expected to start in new medical colleges in Saran & Samastipur.

At the present, there are a total no. of 1490 MBBS & 140 BDS seats in Bihar. There are a total no. of 1630 govt MBBS & BDS seats combined. In this, 15% seats are filled under the All India quota. Whereas, 85% seats are filled under the state quota. After the increase of 200 MBBS seats, there will be a total of 1690 seats in the medical colleges of Bihar. At the present, there are 200 seats in PMC, 120 seats in DMC Laheriyasarai, 120 seats in Bhagalpur, 150 seats in NMC Patna, 120 seats in Muzaffarpur, 120 seats in Gaya, 120 seats in IGIMS Patna, 120 seats in GMC Bettiah, 120 seats in VIMS Pawapuri, 100 seats in Madhepura, 100 seats in ESIC Medical College Bihta, 100 seats in GMC Purnia, 40 seats in Patna Dental College & 100 seats in Rahui Dental College.
This time the MBBS seats will increase across the country
This time in 2025-26, 10 thousand additional MBBS seats will be added in medical colleges and hospitals. Currently there are total 706 medical colleges or institutes across the country. These have 1,15,812 MBBS seats. Last year more than 10 thousand medical seats were increased. This time also more than 10 thousand seats are expected to increase. In fact, admission is possible in 40 to 45 new colleges this year. These include both govt & private medical colleges. All colleges are expected to get alloP before July.
