Latest Updated On 27/07/2025: The application process is going on for admission in all PG Diploma courses including postgraduate MA, MSc and MCom in Patna University. The last date for application is 31st July. In many subjects of postgraduate MA and MSc, very less applications have been received than the seats.

Many times more applications have been received in LLB and LLM than the seats. About eight hundred applications have been received in LLB, while the number of seats in it is three hundred. There are 20 seats in LLM, applications are about 120. 39 applications have been received in MBA, four in Arabic, three in Public Administration, seven in MA Mathematics, three in Human Resources, eight in Maithili, 32 in Physics, less than ten applications have been received in Urdu and Bengali. One hundred and twenty five applications have been received in Zoology. 2500 applications have been received in all PG departments.

The situation of PG level vocational courses is not good. Barring a few courses, less applications have been received than the seats in all subjects. It is difficult to fill all the seats in major subjects like Rural Management, PMIR, Safety Management. In social science subjects, History, Economics, Geography and Political Science have received more applications than seats. There are fewer applications in other subjects including Sociology, Psychology. In humanities subjects, except English, Hindi, Philosophy, fewer applications have been received. However, due to the delay in the graduation final result, there is a decrease in applications. Here, in the graduation course, admission took place in spot round in all the colleges till Saturday. Its report will be released on Monday.
