Latest Updated On 15/08/2025: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the 'CBSE Reading Challenge 2025-26' to promote reading habits and literacy skills among students.

- Students from 6th to 10th class will participate
This competition will be organized for students from class 6 to 10 and there will be an option to participate in both Hindi and English languages.
Applications can be made till 01 September
The competition will be held in two phases. Applications for the first phase will start from 18 August and will run till 1 September.

The first phase (offline) will be held at the school level from 8 to 11 September 2025. The competition will be held in two categories. Children from class VI and VII will participate in the first category and from class VIII to X in the second category. Top 10 students (2 students per class) from each school will be selected for the second phase. Children will have to register for the second round between 15 and 26 September.
The second phase will be online. The competition will be held on 8, 9, 13 and 14 October 2025. This competition will be held on computer based. The question paper and scoring criteria will be sent to the schools by the board. All the participants of the second phase will get a certificate, while those who perform well will be given a certificate of appreciation. The board has said that only those schools will participate in the second round which have registered for the first.
The board released this instruction:
-It is mandatory to write the names of the students participating in Hindi and the name of the school in Devanagari script.
-Last date for registration: 1 September 2025 (first phase), 26 September 2025 (second phase).
