Latest Updated On 24/08/2025: There has been a stir among the disabled candidates after the ranking list released by the Bihar Joint Entrance Competitive Examination Board for admission in MBBS on Wednesday late night.
The disabled candidates have demanded an investigation into the merit list alleging that a large number of fake disabled persons have been included in it. A letter has also been written to the Health Minister, Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department and the Secretary of the Bihar Joint Entrance Competitive Examination Board regarding this. Earlier, these candidates had also reached the Bihar Joint Entrance Competitive Examination Board office and staged a sit-in. The candidates allege that this time people have entered the merit list on a large scale through fake disability certificates. Due to this, the number of disabled candidates has increased by three times compared to previous years. This has reduced the chances of real candidates getting seats.

Only 16 institutions have been recognized for disability testing: A student said that 16 medical colleges in different parts of the country have been authorized to test for disability. The students allege that there is no qualified medical institute in Bihar for testing. Despite this, the council has authorised 12 medical colleges in the state to issue certificates without proper testing.
