Latest Updated On 23/09/2025: Bihar government will submit vacancies for teacher recruitment in government schools to the Bihar Public Service Commission within the next five days. Education Minister Sunil Kumar stated on Monday that submissions for TRE-4 vacancies have been received from most districts, with submissions from four districts still pending. The minister stated that 26,000-27,000 positions are expected to be filled in this phase.
The Education Minister stated that the TRE-5 exam will also be conducted after TRE-4. Addressing a press conference at the department's Madan Mohan Jha Auditorium on Monday, he stated that 2.33 lakh teachers have recently been recruited through the BPSC. This number of appointments is unprecedented in any other state. Teachers have been appointed based on the number of students enrolled in the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET). The minister stated that applications for the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) are being accepted from September 19th. The last date for applications is 27 September. The exam will be held from October 12th to 31st, and the results will be declared on 16 November. The government is continuously striving for quality education.

Out of 41,000 applications, 24,600 teachers have been transferred
Voluntary Transfer: The Education Minister stated that 41,689 teachers in the state had applied for voluntary transfer from September 5th to 13th, offering three districts each. Of these, 24,600 teachers have been transferred to their desired districts. Transfers for the remaining approximately 17,000 teachers were not possible due to the lack of vacancies in their preferred districts.
Three Options Must Be Given: These teachers can again apply for three districts each from September 23rd to 28th on the e-Shikshakosh portal.
For the fourth phase of teacher recruitment, vacancies have been received from most districts in the state. Details of vacancies from four districts are still pending. In this phase, 26,000-27,000 teachers are expected to be recruited. -Sunil Kumar, Education Minister
A district-level committee will allocate schools
617 regular teachers, 12,370 special education teachers, and 28,702 BPSC-selected teachers applied for transfer. Of these, 17,382 are teachers from grades 1 to 5. Of the 61 disabled women, 56 were transferred. 9,900 female teachers and 14,700 male teachers were also transferred. For those whose districts have been allocated, the committee will allocate schools based on the student-teacher ratio and class- or subject-wise teacher vacancies.
