Latest Updated On 20/11/2025: The National Commission for Indian Systems of Medicine has given the Government Ayurvedic College and Hospital another opportunity by returning the reduced seats. The Commission had previously reduced the seats in the Ayurvedic College's UG and PG courses.



  • Nursing staff and faculty shortages must be addressed by December 31st.
  • Admissions are underway for 125 UG and 85 PG seats.



This reduction was made on the condition that the college address the shortages in nursing staff and faculty by December 31st. Based on the shortages identified after an inspection by the Commission's team, 35 UG and 10 PG seats were reduced. The 125 UG seats were reduced to 90, and the 85 PG seats were reduced to 75.

The Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, has returned PG and UG seats to Kadamkuan Government Ayurvedic College in Patna, along with other government Ayurvedic colleges across the country. The Ayurvedic College is currently applying for admissions to 125 BAMS UG and 85 PG courses for the 2025-26 session. The college faces a significant shortage of nursing staff and faculty. In the PG departments where 10 seats were reduced, 3 seats were reduced in Panchakarma, 4 in Obstetrics, 1 in Kaya Chikitsa and 1 in Shaivri. These seats have been returned. 


The Ayurvedic College Hospital has 224 beds. According to the standard, there should be one nurse for every 10 beds. Currently, there are 18 nurses in the hospital, whereas there should be 22 nurses. There is a huge shortage of faculty in the college. The deficiencies have to be fulfilled by the end of December this year.
