Latest Updated On 22/02/2026: Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) conducted the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 exam on 7, 8, 14, and 15 February 2026. Candidates who took the exam are now awaiting the release of the answer key and response sheet so they can compare their questions and assess their performance.
Provisional Answer Key Expected This Week
IIT releases the provisional answer key within two weeks of the exam. Therefore, it is expected that the answer key will be available for download sometime this week.

Objections can be filed within the stipulated timeframe
After the provisional answer key and response sheet are released, students will be able to compare their questions and answers with the answer sheet. If they are not satisfied with any answer, they can submit an objection online within the stipulated timeframe. If your claim is found to be correct, marks will be awarded.
Steps to Download the Answer Key
- As soon as the GATE Answer Key 2026 is released, first visit the website gate2026.iitg.ac.in.
- Click on the Application Login on its official website's home page.
- Now, log in by entering your Enrollment ID/Email Address, Password, and the provided code.
- The provisional answer key and response sheet will open.
- After this, you will be able to compare your questions and answers.
The result will be released on 19 March
Objections to the answer key will be resolved by a team of experts from IIT. Once the final answer key is prepared, the candidates' results will be announced based on that. The results will be released on 19th March 2026. Applicants are advised to visit the official website frequently for the latest updates.
