Latest Updated On 24/02/2025: More than 1.25 lakh teachers of the state will be given appointment letters in March. These include 66 thousand candidates selected in the third phase of teacher recruitment by Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). At the same time, about 65 thousand employed teachers who have passed the second phase competency test will also be given provisional appointment letters as special teachers. Both types of appointment letters can be distributed among selected teachers by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna. The rest will be given appointment letters in the respective districts.
- Appointment letters will be given to those who have passed the competency test in the second phase on 1st March
- Appointment letters will be distributed to the teachers selected in the third phase on 9th March
According to the information received from the Education Department, preparations are being made by considering 9 March as the date of giving appointment letters to the third phase teacher candidates selected by BPSC. The date of the appointment letter distribution ceremony has not been formally announced yet. The department has instructed the officials of the districts to make preparations according to this date. It is expected that the date will be announced shortly. According to departmental sources, the counselling of teachers selected in the third phase has been completed. Their counseling has been done in the districts allotted by BPSC. After receiving the appointment letter, all these teachers will take training.

Preparations are underway to issue provisional appointment letters of special teachers to 21,911 teacher candidates of primary schools, 16,989 of middle schools, 15,250 of secondary schools and 12,195 of higher secondary schools.
It is known that the state government has decided that employed teachers will be given five chances to pass the competency test. Two phases of competency test have been completed. Provisional appointment letters of special teachers have already been given to employed teachers who passed in the first phase. The date of application for the third phase of competency test has also been released.
More than 65 thousand more employed teachers will become state employees
The employed teachers who have passed the Competency Examination-2 will be given the provisional appointment letter of special teacher on March 1. 65 thousand 716 teachers had passed the Competency Examination-2. After this, their counseling was done in several phases. In this, the teachers whose counseling has been completed will be given the appointment letter as special teachers. With the contribution of these teachers as special teachers, they will get the status of government teachers.
