Latest Updated On 02/04/2025: The electricity company has decided to recruit on four thousand posts. In this, there will be 2200 recruitments in South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited and 1800 posts in North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited.
- 2200 will be recruited in South Bihar and 1800 in North Bihar
- Recruitment will be done on other posts including engineer in the next three years
In the next three years, the company will complete the process of recruitment on other posts including engineer. In the current financial year 2025-26 itself, there will be recruitment on about two and a half thousand posts. After this recruitment, there will be more than 13 thousand workers in the company. The distribution companies have informed the Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission regarding the recruitment. According to the Regulatory Commission, there are currently 5488 workers in South Bihar Company.

This year there will be recruitment on 1400 posts. 134 workers will retire. In this way, the total number of workers will become 6754. Next year there will be recruitment on 420 posts and 119 workers will retire. In the third year, there will be recruitment on 380 posts and 107 workers will retire. In this way, the total number of workers will become 7328. Similarly, there are 4029 employees in North Bihar Company right now. 1170 posts will be filled this year and 54 employees will retire. The total number of employees will become 5145. Next year, 329 posts will be filled and 56 employees will retire. The total number of employees will become 5418.
Number of consumers increasing every year: The number of electricity consumers is increasing by an average of six lakh every year in the state. Currently, there are more than 2 crore 12 lakh electricity consumers in Bihar. By the end of the current financial year i.e. 26 March, the number of electricity consumers may exceed 2 crore 18 lakh. It is believed that it will increase by another six lakh by March 27. The total number of consumers is expected to exceed two crore 30 lakh by March 2028.
Due to the increase in the number of consumers, the consumption of electricity is increasing by an average of 700 MW every year. In view of the increase in the number of consumers, the company has also decided to increase the number of employees so that people can get quality electricity without any hassle.
