The Education Department has sent the rules to the Finance Department for approval. After getting the green signal on the rules from the Finance Department and the Law Department, it will be taken to the Cabinet. After getting approval from the State Cabinet, this rule will be implemented.

It has been provided in the School Assistant Appointment Rules that half of the total posts will be filled on compassionate grounds. That is, the dependents of the employees who died during the tenure will be appointed on various posts including the assistant of the Education Department. It has been provided in the rules that the dependents for appointment on compassionate grounds will be selected by a committee headed by the District Magistrate. The District Education Officer will also be included in this committee. For the last about three years, work was going on in the direction of preparing the School Assistant Appointment Rules.
Now after the rules are made, action is moving forward in the direction of implementing it. The School Peon Appointment Rules are also ready. The Education Department has prepared its rules and sent it to the Finance Department. Further action will be taken on this after the Finance Department returns the School Peon Appointment Rules. It has been provided in the School Peon Appointment Rules that the minimum educational qualification should be Intermediate.
It has also been provided that half of the total posts will be filled on compassionate grounds. School Peon is to be appointed in high and higher secondary schools. School Peon will be appointed through the district level committee. The vacant posts are being counted. It is believed that the appointment will be done before the assembly elections.
Recruitment will be done on the basis of written examination
It has been provided in the new rules that the appointment of school assistants will be done on the basis of written examination. The minimum qualification of the candidates for this post should be graduation in any subject. The provision of reservation and age limit in appointment will be applicable as per the rules of the state government. Eligible candidates will be selected through the State Staff Selection Commission. It is believed that the school assistant appointment rules will be finally implemented by the end of June. The education department currently has information about 6421 vacant posts of school assistants. There is a possibility that the number of vacant posts may increase a little more in the future. Regular appointment of school assistants has not been done in schools for the last several years. The education department aims to fill the vacant posts of school assistants within three months.
