Latest Updated On 31/05/2025: The Supreme Court on Friday ordered the National Board of Examinations (NBE) to conduct the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-PG)-2025 for postgraduate medical courses in one shift.

A bench of Justices Vikram Nath, Sanjay Kumar & N.V. Anjaria directed the NBE officials to make appropriate arrangements to held the exam in one shift. The apex court said in its order that no 2 question papers can ever be said to be of equal difficulty or simplicity. The bench gave this order while quashing the notification released by the NBE to conduct NEET PG-2025 in 2 shifts.

'Participants will not get equal opportunity'
The bench rejected the arguments of NBE, which said that there is no time now to prepare for conducting the exam in a single shift. The court said that conducting NEET-PG in two shifts will not only promote arbitrariness but will also not provide equal opportunity to the participants.
