Latest Updated On 18/05/2025: The syllabus will change in the government schools of Jharkhand from 2026. While the syllabus from class 1 to 4 will be changed in the new academic session of 2026, the syllabus from class 5 to 8 will be changed in 2027. The School Education & Literacy Department has started its preparation. It is being changed under the leadership of Jharkhand Educational Research and Training Council. For this, the curriculum will be prepared with the help of subject experts and teachers.

For the second time after the formation of Jharkhand, the syllabus of class 1 to 4 is being changed. These changes are being made under the National Education Policy. In this, from basic literacy to the art of learning will be included in the syllabus. The re-designed Learning Out Come will be implemented. Along with the socio-cultural environment of Jharkhand, its great men and agitators will be included. The children of Jharkhand will not only read about the biography of Guruji Shibu Soren, his movement, sacrifice, but will also study about Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who won two World Cups for India in cricket. Players who have brought recognition to the state at the national and international level in hockey and archery and won medals can also be given a place in the textbooks.

Distribution of books on the lines of Bengal
Textbooks will be distributed in the Jharkhand on the lines of West Bengal (Kolkata). This system will be implemented in Jharkhand from the next academic session April 2026.
In this, books will be distributed simultaneously across the state within a fortnight in the month of April. Books will be distributed in schools across the state between April 1 and April 15 from the new academic session of 2026. For this, the process of printing the books as well as delivering them to the blocks will be completed by March.
There will be a change in the curriculum in government schools from the academic session of 2026. The curriculum of some classes will be changed in the first year. After this, the books of other classes will be changed. A team of subject experts from JCERT has been formed for the book.
The main team has been formed. It will include the objectives of the National Education Policy.
