Latest Updated On 02/06/2025: The result of the country's toughest and most prestigious engineering entrance exam JEE-Advanced will be released on Monday morning at 10 am. Better results are expected based on the matching of recorded responses and provisional answer keys released by the exam conducting body IIT Kanpur.

This exam was conducted by IIT Kanpur in 222 cities of the country and 224 cities including Kathmandu and Dubai in two shifts on 18 May. The final answer key will also be out along with the jee advanced result. This year, about 2 lakh candidates had registered for JEE-Advanced exam. This year JEE-Advanced exam was of a total of 360 marks, in which both Paper-1 & Paper-2 were of 180 marks each.

Change in cutoff possible due to difficulty of paper: According to experts, the All India rank of the students as well as category rank will also be released in the results. Only students who qualify for counselling will be able to take admission in 17740 (till last year) seats of 23 IITs. As per JEE-Advanced Information Bulletin, both subject wise and average cutoffs for students to be included in the merit list have already been declared, which is 10% subject wise and 35% average for general category and 9% subject wise and 31.5% average for OBC and EWS category students.
On the other hand, for SC and ST category students, the subject wise cutoff is 5% and average is 17.5%, but in the past years also, the previously released cutoff was reduced considering the difficulty of the paper.
Last year the cutoff for general category was 8.68 percent and average 30.34 percent subject wise for students and 7.8 percent and average 27.30 percent for OBC and EWS category students subject wise. Whereas for SC and ST category students, it was 4.34 percent and average 15.17 percent subject wise. Last year, 48248 students were qualified for counselling for a total of 17740 (including supernumerary) seats in IIT and 43773 students were qualified for counselling for a total of 17385 seats in IIT in the year 2023. This year, more students may get counselling calls compared to last year.
