Latest Updated On 18/06/2025: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has released the category-wise top 20 percentile cutoff marks for the board exams of 2024 and 2025 for all the boards of the country. This time, the top 20 percentile cutoff of all CBSE has decreased in all other categories except SSC and PWD. At the same time, there has been a decrease in the general category in the top 20 percentile of Bihar Board. At the same time, there was an increase in 20 percentile in other categories. The highest increase has been in the EWS category.
In 2024, a student of EWS category who scored 331 marks in 12th got admission in IIT and NIT. But this time the cutoff of EWS has become 359 marks, higher than General. It is being told that this time, due to being out of the top 20 percentile candidates and not getting 75% marks in the 12th board examination, the dream of many students to study in IIT and NIT has been shattered. To get admission in prestigious institutions like IIT and NIT, one must have at least 75% marks in the 12th board examination or one must be among the top 20 percentile candidates in the respective board exam result.
