Latest Updated On 03/07/2025: The High Court has directed the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) to complete the appointment process of 26001 teachers by September. During the hearing of the case on Wednesday, the court directed the commission to follow the deadline set for appointment and submit the progress report to the court till 15 September.
During the hearing, an affidavit was filed on behalf of JSSC stating that the appointment process of teachers is going on. The entire process will be completed by the end of September. The appointment process is being done in four categories.

How many teacher posts for which subject?
- Maths, Science: 5008
- Social Science: 5002
- Language: 4,991
- Intermediate trained: 11,000
The commission told the court that there were 5,008 posts for mathematics and science, but only 2,734 candidates have been selected for document verification. The remaining candidates are not eligible. On this, the court suggested that the shortage should be met on the basis of a new notification for appointment, but 2,734 appointments should be continued. For social sciences, 5,304 candidates have been shortlisted for document verification against 5,002 posts, but about 800 candidates have been show-caused due to discrepancies in the documents of some. Intermediate trained teachers are being appointed for primary schools.
Around 6,000 and 13,000 candidates (subject to availability) are expected to be shortlisted for document verification for language and intermediate trained teachers respectively.
When will the recruitment process for teachers of which language be completed?

The recruitment process for teachers of Mathematics and Science will be completed in the second week of July, Social Science in the fourth week, and Language in the third week of August. The recruitment process for Intermediate trained teachers will be completed in the last week of September.
