It is known that Coal India takes such initiatives to prepare its officers according to the changing circumstances. A few years ago, Coal India had signed a one-year agreement with three Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) to train coal officers. Under the guidance of Lucknow, Indore and Kolkata IIMs, coal officers learned new things related to management. Especially the way of getting work done from workers employed on contract basis. Due to increasing mining through outsourcing in the coal sector, coal officers are being given special training in IIM.
