Latest Updated On 05/08/2025: Domicile policy will be implemented in the recruitment of teachers in Bihar. People of Bihar will be given priority in appointment. The new system will be implemented from the next appointment (TRE-4). Not only this, STET will also be organized before the conduct of TRE-5 next year. This information was tweeted by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday.
On his X post, Nitish Kumar wrote that the Education Department has been directed to make necessary amendments in the relevant rules to give priority to the residents of Bihar in the recruitment of teachers. This will be implemented from TRE 4 itself. TRE 4 will be conducted in the year 2025 & TRE 5 in the year 2026. Instructions have also been given to organize STET before the conduct of TRE 5. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar said that since the formation of govt in November 2005, we have been continuously working to improve or progress the education system. A large no. of teachers have been recruited to strengthen the education system.
In the last recruitment, 25 thousand teachers were from other states: In the last two years, about 2 lakh 30 thousand teachers have been appointed in the state. Out of this, about 22 to 25 thousand are selected candidates from other states including UP and Jharkhand. Women from other states also got the benefit of reservation here. This is the reason that the highest number of teachers selected from other states are female teachers.
Earlier, the state govt had made it clear that only the original female applicants of bihar will get the benefit of reservation in TRE 4. Only female candidates of Bihar will get the benefit of 50 percent reservation in teacher recruitment for up to class five and 35 percent reservation in other categories. Now with the new order of the CM, provision of domicile is being made for both women and men. Candidates of Bihar will get the benefit from it.
Candidates were demanding
The youth of Bihar were agitating on the various platforms demanding the implementation of domicile in Bihar jobs. Candidates are continuously running a campaign on social media platforms demanding the implementation of domicile policy. Recently in Patna, the candidates had also demonstrated and marched on the streets demanding domicile.
