Latest Updated On 09/08/2025: The interview of the candidates who have cleared the Pre PhD (PAT) exam in Patliputra University is expected from 25 August. The interview will be completed by the first week of September. A meeting was held on Friday under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Upendra Prasad Singh. It was decided that the pre-determined seats will be increased almost twofold.

The Vice Chancellor said that all the students will be called for the interview. The seats will be determined on the basis of the number of teachers. The university will give priority to research scholars. The Vice Chancellor said that the shortage of guest faculty will be met. PAT's OSD Dr. Seema said that the number of seats previously determined was 803, it is likely to be increased to 1550. The university had conducted the exam for 25 subjects. In this, about 1703 candidates were successful in PAT.

Including NET/JRF, 3303 candidates will be called for interview. In many subjects in PAT, 10 times more students have been successful than the seats. In this, especially in History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, there are many times more candidates than seats. In Commerce, there are 10 times more candidates than seats. In many subjects of Science Faculty including Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, the number of candidates is less than the seats.
