Latest Updated On 28/10/2025: CBI's Doon branch registered a case on Monday in connection with the state's highly publicized paper leak case. With this, the CBI formally began investigating the paper leak. In this process, the CBI has summoned documents related to the investigation so far.

The Subordinate Services Selection Commission conducted a graduate-level examination on September 21st. The paper was sent outside the examination center via WhatsApp by candidate Khalid. It took 36 days for the CBI to investigate the matter. Following the paper leak on September 21st, the police formed an SIT and began the investigation. Meanwhile, given the protests by candidates and the seriousness of the matter, the state government commissioned an investigation by retired Justice U.C. Dhyani. The examination was canceled on October 11th. Now, on Monday, the central agency registered a case on the government's recommendation.

The CBI will investigate the extent of the paper leak, determine who was involved, and whether the incident was carried out by a gang. A case was initially registered at the Raipur police station in Dehradun. The investigation was being conducted by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by ASP Jaya Baloni. During the investigation, Khalid and his sister Hina, accused of leaking the paper from the Jat Bahadur examination center in Haridwar, have been sent to jail.
