Experts say that the session was delayed from the very beginning, i.e., the first semester. Courses in which the first semester exams should have been conducted in December-January, the semester exams for these courses are unlikely to be held before February-April. Due to the delay in the first semester, there is pressure to regularize the semester. Consequently, students have less time for the second and third semesters.

Student representatives say that the admission schedule for B.Ed. is decided at the state level, but for UG and PG, it should be decided at the university level. Admissions after the stipulated date should be strictly prohibited.

Inter-College Youth Festival Likely in January, University Preparing

The Binod Bihari Mahto Koyalanchal University, Dhanbad, has intensified preparations for its second convocation. The convocation will be held on 26 December at the New Town Hall. Following the convocation, the Inter-College Youth Festival is expected to be held. Colleges are on Christmas/winter vacation from December 25th to 31st. Therefore, the Youth Festival may be held in the first or second week of January.

There is talk that PK Roy Memorial College may be offered the hosting rights. The university has yet to make an official announcement in this regard. Students are awaiting an official announcement regarding the Youth Festival. It is worth noting that the festival is scheduled to be held at Fakir Mohan University in Balasore, Odisha, from January 27th to 31st. The National Youth Festival is scheduled to be held in Chennai from March 10th to 14th. Funding shortages are also hampering the organization of the Youth Festival. It is being discussed that the university has insufficient funds for this purpose. The university is preparing to send a letter to banks and BCCL requesting sponsorship, or letters have already been sent to several banks. No official is ready to speak on when the Youth Festival will take place. On the other hand, student unions say that when only gold medalists are to be awarded degrees at the convocation, why were other students asked to register? In the first convocation too, only gold medalists received degrees due to Corona. In the second convocation too, after so many days of registration, the issue of refunding the money is now coming to the fore. We are waiting for the university to issue an official letter.
