Latest Updated On 26/12/2025: Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) has doubled the number of vacancies in the Second Inter-Level Examination in two years. On 15 December, the commission added another 1,317 vacancies. After this addition, a total of 24,492 posts will be filled. Earlier, on 27 September 2025, the number of seats was increased from 13,000 to 23,175. Approximately 10,000 additional seats were added at that time.

However, the date for the Second Inter-Level Examination has not yet been finalized. The notification for the Second Inter-Level recruitment was issued in August 2023, and applications were accepted until November. Initially, 12,199 vacancies were announced for this examination, which were later increased to 13,000.

According to the new notification issued by the commission, candidates can pay the fee on the website until 13 January 2026. The last date for filling out the examination form is 15 January.  Previously, more than 26 lakh applications were received based on the vacancies announced earlier. Now, another opportunity to apply has been provided. The commission has been engaged in the application process for two consecutive years, but no official information has yet been given regarding the examination date. Due to the significant increase in the number of seats, the number of applications has also increased considerably.


This will be one of the largest examinations in Bihar. It is estimated that after the second opportunity to apply, the number of applications has crossed 40 lakh.


Results will be released using the normalization method


Due to the large number of applicants in the Second Inter-Level Examination, the exam is likely to be conducted in multiple shifts. If the examination is conducted in more than one shift, the results are likely to be released using the normalization method. Five times the number of vacancies will be considered qualified in the preliminary examination, and these candidates will appear for the main examination. The passing marks for the Inter-Level Preliminary Examination are: a minimum of 40 percent for the General category, 36.5 percent for BC, 34 percent for MBC, and 32 percent for SC/ST.

The Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) released vacancies for the second inter-level recruitment in 2023, almost nine years after the first one. The advertisement for the first inter-level examination was published in 2014, and it took seven years for the final results to be declared. The application process for the second inter-level recruitment continued until November 2023.
