On Friday, the NTA issued an important notice for the candidates. The NTA found discrepancies between the live photos uploaded in some candidates' applications and the records in their identity documents. This advisory was issued after this discovery. The NTA stated that candidates have until 15 January to make corrections if there is a mismatch between their Aadhaar card and the live photo.

The NTA said that the online application process for the first session of JEE Main ran from October 31st to November 27th, 2025. During this period, it was observed that some candidates registered using identity documents other than their Aadhaar card. In such cases, the live photo taken at the time of application did not match the photo available in the UIDAI records. Considering this, the NTA has given candidates another opportunity to verify their identity.
Candidates will have to upload a recent photograph along with a signed and verified certificate. Previously, this verification was only to be done by the principal/headmaster of the school or college, but this relief has been provided after complaints from the candidates. Now, candidates can also get the certificate verified by a Class-I Gazetted Officer such as a Tehsildar, Revenue Officer, एसडीएम (Sub-Divisional Magistrate), डीएम (District Magistrate), or, in the case of NRI candidates, a Class-I officer of the Indian Embassy.
