Latest Updated On 04/01/2026: Education Department has received vacancy reports from 37 districts for the appointment of teachers in schools. Only the vacancy report from West Champaran is yet to be received.
BPSC vacancies are expected to be announced till 15 January
After receiving the report from West Champaran, the vacancies will be sent to the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) after the roster is cleared according to reservation norms through the General Administration Department. It is expected that the vacancies will be sent to the BPSC till 15 January. The BPSC is likely to release the vacancies for TRE 4 by the end of February.

After the BPSC receives the requisition for teacher vacancies, it will take at least one month for the vacancies to be released. The BPSC will publish the advertisement after verifying the reservation roster. The BPSC will prepare the advertisement format and then release the vacancies. After the vacancies are released, candidates will have approximately one month to apply. Recently, Education Minister Sunil Kumar claimed that there would be no less than 25,000 vacancies in TRE 4.
In the last four days, the Education Department has received teacher vacancy reports from Siwan, Madhepura, Araria, Katihar, and Sheikhpura. Meanwhile, the Director of Secondary Education, Sajjan R., sent a letter to all District Education Officers on 31 December, instructing them to send the District Program Officer along with the roster register and a roster expert to the Education Department headquarters on January 5th. During this time, the results of the STET (State Teacher Eligibility Test) for the appointment of teachers in classes 9 to 12 in high and higher secondary schools will also be released. This will give STET-qualified candidates an opportunity to apply. It is estimated that there will be approximately 25,000 to 27,000 vacancies for teachers in the state's 78,000 primary to higher secondary schools.
