Latest Updated On 29/01/2026: The Directorate of Secondary Education on Wednesday released the counseling dates for successful teacher candidates of the third and fourth competency examinations for local body teachers.
- Teacher's counselling will continue till 11 February
Counseling for the 12,819 successful candidates of the third and fourth competency examinations will begin on February 6th and continue until February 11th. During the counseling, the teachers' certificates will be verified. The counseling will be held at the District Registration and Counseling Center of the respective district in five time slots from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The first slot will be from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, the second from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, the third from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM, the fourth from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM, and the fifth from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM. A letter issued by the Directorate of Secondary Education states that the specific date and time slot for each candidate's counseling will be determined at the headquarters level. The letter also provides important information regarding Aadhaar verification.

The Directorate has clarified that if Aadhaar verification fails due to a discrepancy between the name title on the teacher candidate's Aadhaar card and the name title on their matriculation certificate, the teacher candidate must submit an affidavit from a Judicial Magistrate. Upon submission of the affidavit, the name and title will be considered correct, and the verification will be completed.
The third competency examination was held last year in July
The third competency examination was held from July 23rd to 25th last year. The results were released by the Bihar Board on September 4th. The fourth competency examination was held from September 24th to 27th, 2025, and on October 12th and 22nd. Its results were released on December 20th. 7,800 teacher candidates were successful in the third examination, and 4,900 in the fourth.
