Latest Updated On 22/03/2025: Interested players can apply online from Saturday for admission in class six, seven, eight and nine in all the three sports colleges in the state. Admissions are to be taken on 275 seats in various sports in Guru Govind Singh Sports College, Saifai and Gorakhpur Sports College in Lucknow. For the first time, admissions are being taken in class seven, eight and nine in colleges across the state. The government has approved it. Acting Principal of Lucknow Sports College Animesh Saxena said that till now admissions were taken only in class six. It will be mandatory for the students applying to give permanent education number. To pass the selection examination, it will be mandatory for the candidates to score 40 percent marks in physical examination and 40 percent marks in sports and technology examination.

The physical examination will include 100 meter race, 800 meter race, standing broad jump, shuttle run, and medicine ball throw (one kg). All these will be of ten marks each. Sports technology examination will be of 30 marks and sports examination will be of 20 marks. Only if the candidate is found fit in the biological age test, then admissions will be done as per the vacant seats and college preference for counselling.
Let us tell you that the preliminary selection examination of 18 divisions of the state will start from April 16, sport-wise. The preliminary selection physical examination will be of 50 marks, sports and technical examination will be of 50 marks.

Candidates interested in athletics will have to apply in any one of 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 600 meters, 1000 meters or jumper or thrower (javelin, shotput).
