Latest Updated 23/04/2025: Patna High Court (PHC) heard the petition filed for the demand to apply on the basis of advertisement number 22/2025 published by Bihar Technical Service Commission on March 10 for reinstatement to the post of Pharmacist.

The applicant told the court that he had taken admission in D Pharma course in the academic session 2020-22 for pharmacist studies. But due to non-conduct of Part-1 and 2 examinations on time, he is not entitled to participate in the selection process. He had filed an application to extend the last date for submission of application form and to allow him to participate in the selection process.

The petition was heard by a single bench of Justice Arvind Singh Chandel. Applicant's advocate Prashant Sinha said that due to delay in conducting the examination, the applicants could not participate in the selection process. At the same time, the petition was strongly opposed by the state government. The court admitted that undoubtedly the applicant does not have the requisite qualification for selection. He has not passed Part I and II of the examination and he also does not have any certificate to this effect and registration with the Bihar State Pharmacy Council. Only on the ground that the first and second part examination was conducted late, the applicant cannot be allowed to participate in the selection process. The court rejected the application.
It is worth noting that Bihar Technical Service Commission had published advertisement number 22/2025 for regular appointment to 2473 posts of Pharmacist.
