Archana Mehta, Joint Secretary of the Governor's Secretariat, has sought a report from the Vice Chancellors of the four concerned universities in a week. It is written in the letter sent that after the implementation of the New Education Policy 2020 in all the universities of Jharkhand, intermediate education in the state is to be done only in plus two schools. There are reports that enrollment is being taken in intermediate by all the four universities even at present. This is against the provisions of new education policy.
On this, give a report in a week regarding the continuation of admission in intermediate under the four universities.
Also, if admission in Intermediate is continuing, then why not take necessary action considering it as an obstacle in implementing the new education policy. Universities of Jharkhand should also clarify their position on this.
University administration sought report from colleges
After the notice was issued by the Governor's Secretariat, all the four universities have sought reports from the colleges. The Registrar of Vinoba Bhave University Hazaribagh has directed the principals of all the constituent and affiliated colleges under the university to submit the report within three days. It is worth noting that the Raj Bhavan had already issued instructions to stop intermediate studies in constituent colleges from 2025. After this, the Education Department is also taking action to enroll the students enrolled in the session 2024-26 in the constituent colleges who are currently in 12th. Such students are being enrolled in Plus Two schools and inter colleges that have received establishment permission and approval.
