Latest Updated On 22/04/2025: The process of filling the vacant posts in various departments of Bihar government is going to start soon. 64 thousand 559 posts lying vacant in 10 different departments will be filled. 

Requisition for recruitment on 14968 posts has already been sent to the commission

Out of these vacant posts, the requisition has been sent to the commission by the concerned ten departments for restoration on 14 thousand 968 posts. Chief Secretary Amritlal Meena has given necessary instructions to the concerned departments to fill the remaining 49 thousand 591 posts soon.

On Monday, the Chief Secretary held a review meeting with the nodal officers of the concerned departments in the auditorium of the Chief Secretariat and said that the process of filling the vacant posts should be completed expeditiously. It is worth noting that under Saat Nishchay-2, restoration is being done on the vacant posts of the departments. In the meeting, the information about the vacant posts was given to the Chief Secretary through presentation by the departments.

The departments in which there are vacant posts include Food and Consumer Protection, Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, Water Resources, Agriculture, Minor Water Resources, Animal and Fisheries Resources, Cooperatives, Environment Forest and Climate Change and Sugarcane Industry. There are 64 thousand 559 vacancies for different posts in these departments. It was told in the meeting that a requisition has been sent to the concerned commission for recruitment to 14 thousand 968 vacant posts in these ten departments.


Audit will be done to reduce energy consumption

The Chief Secretary directed all the departments to audit the energy consumption to prevent misuse. Also, it has been asked to increase the use of LED in all government buildings. He also directed to take initiative to reduce excessive consumption of electricity by conducting energy audit in government schools and hospitals. The Chief Secretary also instructed the departments to spend the entire amount allocated in the central scheme head. He asked all the departments to settle the pending cases soon. He instructed to take steps in a focused manner to find out the reason for the pending cases and to settle them.

SOP will be made to take action on viral videos of officers
The Chief Secretary has asked all the departments to identify the guilty or poorly performing officers and take immediate departmental action. He directed the General Administration Department to prepare an SOP (Standard Operating Manual) to take concrete action in the case of viral videos of officers.
